Cougar softball team winless in Texas
The Univeristy of Regina Cougars softball team went on a long road trip this weekend to Texas, where they played six games.
They lost to Galveston College 8-0 and 12-2, then to Texas Souther University 7-2, San Jacinto College 8-0, Alvin College 12-0 and Blinn College 14-2.

Cougar women’s softball team splits 4-game series
The University of Regina Cougar women’s softball team played four games this weekend with Dawson College, coming away with two wins.
They won the first game of the series 8-4, lost the second 12-10, won the third 8-6, and lost the fourth 10-2.
They now have a 6-8-2 record, and will play in Saskatoon next weekend against the U of S and Grant MacEwan University.

Cougar softball team has tough weekend
The University of Regina Cougars softball team had a tough weekend, going 0-1-5 at Kaplan Field.
On Saturday, they lost 11-6 to the University of Calgary and 10-2 to Minot State before tying the University of Great Falls 9-9.
On Sunday, they lost 4-3 to Calgary, 7-4 to Monana’s Dawson College, and 11-2 to the University of Saskatchewan.

Cougar softball successful against Alberta
The University of Regina Cougar softball team played five games this weekend in the Alberta Intercollegiate Women’s Fastball Association.

93 Jays win Queen City Mixed Softball League
The 93 Jays beat the 8-Balls 4-3 Monday night to win the Queen City mixed Softball League Championship.
Sean Miller hit a walkoff homer in the 10th inning for the win, which needed three extra innings to decide the game.

The Regina Gold 94 finishied the Canadian midget A girls fast-pitch championship in Winnipeg with a 4-3 record. Their playoff hopes were eliminated with a 6-0 loss to the Quebec Rebelles.

Extreme win Western Canada senior B women’s championship
The Regina Extreme, who plan in the Regina Ladies Softball league, won the Western Canada senior B women’s championship this weekend in Stonewall, Manitoba.
They beat the Manitoba Seine River 11-4 in the gold medal final. Jill Williams was the tournament’s MVP.

Pilot Butte Storm silver in softball
The Pilot Butte Storm finished in second place over the weekend at the Western Canadian midget B girls softball championship in Medicine Hat.
Pilot Butte finished witha 7-3 record, and lost to the Nanaimo Diamonds 7-5 in the final.
Cari Donaldson of the Storm was the top batter in the final, while Tori Heinemann received an award for most sportsmanlike.

Extreme and Gold 91 headed to Western Canadian Championship
The Extreme beat Gold 91 8-7 in the Regina Ladies Softball Association Division 1 final on Wednesday, however both teams will advance to the Western Canadian championship, held August 11th to 14th in Manitoba.
Daina Seyondir was the winning pitcher while Jill Wigums pitched for the Gold 91 and hit a home run.

The Regina Falcons won the Regina Minor Softball League’s pee wee A division on Tuesday with an 8-6 win over the LUmsden Cubs. Andie Wilyman had the win for the Falcons.
