Sox open playoffs with walkoff win

Powered by a big game from the MacDonald brothers, the Regina Red Sox narrowly escaped with a 6-5 win over the Weyburn Beavers in Game One of the East Division Semi-Finals on Saturday afternoon at Currie Field. Trailing 5-4 entering the ninth inning the Red Sox tied the game on an RBI single by Mitch MacDonald and walked off with the victory when Geoff MacDonald was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded... 

Red Sox Open Playoffs on Saturday

The Regina Red Sox capped off a brilliant 2011 regular season with a 10-9 win over the Melville Millionaires on Thursday night and have clinched the Western Major Baseball League’s top overall seed heading into the playoffs. The Red Sox moved to 30-10 with a 19-7 win over the Weyburn Beavers on Monday night at Currie Field. This is the first time in Red Sox history they have hit 30 wins in one season. Johnny Walkoff Leads Sox to WMBL’s Best Record

They did it again. Playing their fourth straight extra innings ballgame, the Regina Red Sox won in walkoff fashion for the second night in a row. Johnny Hay blasted an opposite field homerun over the wall in right field in the bottom of the 13th inning to cap off a 4-3 Red Sox win over the Medicine Hat Mavericks, moving the Red Sox to 23-7 on the season.
