Regina Riot finish first season
The Regina Riot finished their first season in the Western Women’s Canadian Football League with a 36-6 playoff loss to the Saskatoon Valkyrie. The Riot played Saskatoon on Sunday, and came far in the first season.
The Riot’s lone touchdown came when quarterback Aimee Kowlaski ran one in during the fourth quarter. It was the Riot’s best game so far this year against the Valkyrie....
Riot win first game in its history
The Regina Riot won their first game in their short history, beating the Manitoba Fearless 34-20 on Sunday.
Quarterback Aimee Kowalski scored three times, on a six-yard run, and 14-yard run, and a 65-yard run. Teisha Bray scored on a 10-yard run, while Jessica Gawley scored a touchdown on a 69-yard interception return.
The Riot’s next game is June 26th against the Nomad-Wolf Pack in Winnipeg.

The Regina Riot played a historic game on Sunday night at Mosaic Stadium.
They played in Regina’s first ever women’s tackle football game, against the Saskatoon Valkyries, both expansion teams in the Western Women’s Canadian Football League. The Regina Riot play their first league game Sunday at 6:30 pm at Mosaic Stadium against the Saskatoon Valkyrie.
It is the first time women’s tackle football will be played in Regina. Admission is free, although they are accepting donations.

Regina Riot split games in Saskatoon
The Regina Riot won two and lost two games on the weekend at a football jamboree in Saskatoon.
They beat Winnipeg 13-0, with Louise Sumner and Aimee Kowalski scoring touchdowns. They also beat Calgary 12-0, as Kowalski ran 39 yards for a touchdown, and made a seven yard touchdown pass to Claire Dore. They lost 22-15 to Lethbridge and 21-6 to Edmonton, in games which Kim Woycik and Rhonda Morse...
