Regina lawn bowling team wins provincials
A Regina lawn bowling team won the Saskatchewan lawn bowling championship in the men’s fours events on the weekend.
Jonathan Pituley, Mike Pituley, Murray Pitueley, and Grant Wilkie won the final in an extra end over Mark Sutyla, Garth Zummack, Ernie Meid and Doug Propp. Thirdp lace went to Keith Roney, David Ackerman, David Calam and Ralph Van Inderstine.

Saskatchewan teams win bowling bronze
Saskatcheawn’s mixed and ladies bowling teams won bronze medals at the 2011 Canadian Open, which finished Saturday in Surrey, BC.

Glencairn bowlers win gold medal
Four members of the Glencairn Bolodrome won a gold medal last weekend at the Bowl Canada national classified 10-pin championship in Guelph, Ontario.

Regina’s mixed bowling team advances to Canadian championships
Regina’s mixed bowling team advanced to the Canadian championships after winning the provincial championships in Saskatoon this weekend. The team of Coralee Frank, Jeff Hiibner, Aimee Fleming, James Ogilvie, Simone Leon, Don Clearihue, and coach Gord Craig will represent Saskatchewan in B.C. in June.
On the singles side, Wayne Wolfe of Regina will be representing the men to advance to provincials.

Team Saskatchewan finishes third in Bowling Championships
Team Saskatchewan finished in third place this weekend at the Mixed Team 5-Pin Youth Challenge Bowling Championships at the Golden Mile Lanes.
Jordan Rachar of Regina was on the team, as were Brianne Bruynooghe, Sarah Ouellet, Colton Caister, and Jordan Regnier from Saskatoon and Amanda Korchak of Yorkton.
Manitoba won the Challenge, B.C. was second, and Nova Scotia was fourth.

Five-Pin Bowling teams moving onto provincial championships
Three Five-Pin Bowling teams from Regina will compete in the Saskatchewan Great Western Open championships from March 31st to April 3rd in Saskatoon. A men’s team, a women’s team, and a mixed team will represent the city. They are as follows:

Provincial Bowling teams determined
Regina’s provincial bowling teams, who will compete in the provincial bowling championships on December 5th, have been determined.
Jessica Birrell, Samanthan McIntyre, Emily Missal, Santana Nagel, and Adrianna Poncsak will be coached by Simone Leon on the women’s side.
For the men, Danny Baer, Zachary Grainger, David Koegan, Jordan Rachar, and Jared Schick will be coached by Gary Burton.

Regina’s lawn bowlers finished the preliminary round but did not advance to the quarterfinals.
Keith Roney and his partner had a 7-4 record in the men’s pairs preliminary round, while Harriette Pituley and her Canadian women’s triples team were 2-6 in the preliminary round.

Special Olympics Saskatchewan athletes & volunteers onto worlds
There will be four athletes and two volunteers from Saskatchewan respresenting Canada at the 2011 Special Olympics World Games in Athens, Greece, this summer.

Regina’s lawnbowlers played well yesterday at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, Indian. Keith Roney of Regina, with Michel Larue of Quebec, beat Kenya and the Cook Islands in the men’s pairs division.
Harriette Pituley of Regina, with her team of Rachel Larson of Saskatoon and Marie Roth of Ontario, tied England and lost 2-0 to South Africa.
