Cougar track competes in Saskatoon
University of Regina Results
The University of Regina’s track & field teams had their first competition of the second semester on Saturday in Saskatoon, as the Cougars squared off against the University of Saskatchewan in a dual.
Chris Pickering provided the highlight for the Cougars on the men’s side, becoming the first University of Regina athlete to hit a CIS standard this season...
Jordan Wand breaks provincial record
Jordan Wand broke a provincial record this weekend – his own – at the First Chance track and field meet in Saskatoon.
The Regina athlete of the Queen City Striders completed the 600-metre indoor race in a time of one minute, 21.92 seconds. He set the previous record of 1:22.10 in February.

Kendra Schaaf wins fourth Canadian title
Kendra Schaaf of Craven and the Queen City Striders won her fourth Canadian title this weekend, when she won the women’s 7 km race at the 2011 national cross-country championships in Vancouver in a time of 25 minutes.
Alexander Eiswerth of Excel Athletika was 20th out of 167 runners in the junior men’s 8 km race in 27 minutes and 33 seconds.

Cougars at intrasquad meet
The University of Regina Cougars took part in an intrasquad meet this weekend.
Chris Pickering won the men’s weight throw with a distance of 15.44 m, in addition to the shot put with 16.68 m, which is a Cougar record.
Chantelle Labrecque won the women’s weight throw with 14.36 m and the shot put with 12.28 m.

Cougar men third, women tie for fourth in Canada West standings at CIS Championships
QUEBEC CITY, Que. – The University of Regina’s cross country teams competed at the 2011 CIS Championships on Saturday afternoon, with the men finishing in third place in the Canada West standings and the women finishing in a tie for fourth.

Stewart Cup Memorial Cross Country Championship 2011 Results
The 2011 Alberta Provincial Senior Cross Country championships, in conjunction with the Stewart Memorial Cross Country Cup, was held in Edmonton on Sat. Oct 29, 2011. This event saw67 female and 91 male university and club athletes from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta compete in the ladies 5k and men’s 10k races.

Cougars place eighth at Vic Matthews Open
The University of Regina’s men’s cross country team finished in eighth place in the overall standings on Saturday afternoon at the Vic Matthews Open in Guelph, Ont.
The Cougars were led by Iain Fyfe (pictured), who placed 21st with a time of 25:19 over the eight-kilometre course. Matt Johnson was just five seconds behind Fyfe, ending up in 24th place for Regina.
