Junior provincial curling championships in 2012

Kristen Streifel of Saskatoon, with her team of Elyse Lafrance, Brie Splichen and Karlee Korchinski, won the junior women’s provincial curling championship this weekend with a 7-4 win over Brooklyn Lemon, also of Saskatoon. Hicke and Eberle to represent Canada

Dean Hicke and Chantel Eberle will represent Canada at the 2012 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. The Jason Ackerman mixed team represented Saskatchewan and won the 2012 Curling Mixed Curling Championship in November. Curlign teams set for provincial junior curling championships

Ackermans to face off against Hicke, Eberle

Teammates will become competitors on January 7th and 8th as Jason and Colleen Ackerman will copmete agains Dean Hicke and Chantelle Eberle in a best-of-seven series to determine who will represent Canada at the 2012 world mixed doubles curling championship. Pre-qualified teams announced for men’s provincial championship

Englot to play in Saskatchewan women’s curling championship

Michelle Englot of Regina will play in the 2012 Saskatchewan women’s curling championship in Humboldt. Four skips earn a direct berth into the provincial championship through the World Curling Tour. Moskowy wins DEKALB Superspiel

Braeden Moskowy and his team won the DEKALB Superspiel on the weekend in Morris, Manitoba. It was their first win on the World Curling Tour, and worth $10,000. Moskowy’s team, including Kirk Muyres, D.J. Kidby and Dustin Kidby, beat William Lyburn of Winnipeg 8-5 in the final.
