Dennis Oppenlander qualifies for double mini trampline event

Regina’s Dennis Oppenlander finished six out of 24 competitors in the preliminary round of the double mini trampoline event at the world age group tumbling and trampoline championships in Birmingham, England yesterday. Dennis Oppenlander to compete on national team

Dennis Oppenlander of Regina will compete for Canada with the national trampoline and tumbling gymnastics team. Oppenlander, who competes in double mini trampoline, will first compete at the world age group championship from November 24th to 27th in Birmingham, England. Gold medals at Canadian gymnastics championships

Joel Gagnon and Breanne Franklin of Regina won gold medals on Saturday at the Canadian gymnastics championships in Prince Edward Island. Gagnon won gold in the men’s youth floor exercise. Regina to host 2012 Canadian gymnastics championships

Regina will host the 2012 Canadian gymnastics championships next year from May 21st to 26th, as Gymnastics Saskatchewan announced yesterday. The championships will take place at Evraz place. Kori Clark of Regina was second in the all-around provincial 5 novice women’s cateogry over the weekend at the Western Canadian gymnastics championships, held in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Regina’s Breanna Franklin finished first place in her age group in the country at the Gymnix Challenge national gymnastic event this weekend in Montreal. Regina athletes perform well at Canadian gymnastics championships

The Canadian gymnastics championships were held this weekend in Kamloops. Karisa Groff of Gymnastics Adventure won bronze on the beam, and was 10th in the all-around in the women’s national Open 13 to 15 category. She was eighth in the floor exercise.
