McMorris wins gold at X Games
Regina’s Mark McMorris won the Snowboard Big Air competition at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colarado, as he landed a backside triple cork mute 1440 in the finals, scoring 49 out of a possible 50 points.
The winner is determined by a combination of the riders’ two best tricks. McMorris also landed a frontside double cork mute 1080 in his first run.

Mark McMorris wins Ticket To Ride Event
Mark McMorris, a Regina-based snowboarder, won the men’s big air event at the Ticket to Ride’s O’Neill Evolution snowboarding competition on Saturday in Davos, Switzerland.
McMorris now qualifies for the world snowboarding championships, held in Oslo, Norway, February 10th to 19th.

There will be 14 Saskatchewan cross-country skiers competing for Canada in the Masters World Cup 2011 in Vernon, B.C., from March 3 to 11. Saskatchewan athletes include Ken Bristol, Larry Braul, Hal herbison, Lorna MacPherson, Barry Mang, Ron Mang, and Teresa Saccucci of Regina.
