McKibben, Slinn place fourth at Guelph Open
Three members of the University of Regina’s women’s wrestling team competed at the Guelph Open on Saturday in Guelph, Ont. Lisa McKibben (67 kg) and Jasmine Slinn (48 kg) both had fourth-place finishes for the Cougars.

Cougar men’s wrestlers beat Minot State
The University of Regina Cougar men’s wrestling team competed against the Minot State University Beavers in an exhibition duel on Wednesday in Weyburn.
The Cougars came out ahead 33-11 in a final total.

The Regina Cougars men’s wrestling team took part in the Dragon Open meet in Moorhead, Minnesota this weekend.

Musonza and Ackerman medal again
Gilbert Musonza and Kirk Ackerman, Regina wrestlers, won medals at the Austrlian Cup of Wrestling on the weekend in Melbourne.
Musonza won gold in the men’s 55 kg category, while Ackerman earned a silver in the men’s 60 kg division.
They both also helped Canada win the team title; Canada was coached by University of Regina Cougar head coach Leo McGee.

Gilbert Musonza and Kirk Ackerman medal at Commonwealth championships
Regina’s Gilbert Musonza and Kirk Ackerman, both who compete with the University of Regina Cougars wrestling team, won medals at the Commonwealth wrestling championships over the weekend in Melbourne, Australia.
Musonza won a silver medal in the men’s 55 kg weight division, while Ackerman won a bronze in the men’s 60 kg division. Leo McGee of Regina coached the Canadian team.

University of Regina wrestler Gaelan Malloy won two matches and took home the silver medal in the 66-kilogram freestyle division at the Junior Pan-American Championships on Sunday in São Paolo, Brazil.

Two Regina Cattown Wrestling Club members won gold medals this weekend at the national junior and senior men’s GrecoRoman wrestling championships in Edmonton.

Miller High School came out on top in both the 4A girls and 3A boys wrestling provincials this weekend.
