Gilbert Musonza and Kirk Ackerman, Regina wrestlers, won medals at the Austrlian Cup of Wrestling on the weekend in Melbourne. University of Regina wrestler Gaelan Malloy won two matches and took home the silver medal in the 66-kilogram freestyle division at the Junior Pan-American Championships on Sunday in São Paolo, Brazil. Two wrestlers from the Cattown Wrestling Club won medals on the weekend at the 2011 cadet and juvenile championships. Katelynn Wilkins won a silver medal in the juvenile girls 43 kilogram division; Jesse Reid won a bronze in the juvenile men 54 kg division. Men’s Wrestling – Led by Connor Malloy’s gold medal at 76 kilograms, the Cougars finished in third place at the CIS Championships in Thunder Bay.
