Musonza and Ackerman medal again

Gilbert Musonza and Kirk Ackerman, Regina wrestlers, won medals at the Austrlian Cup of Wrestling on the weekend in Melbourne. Musonza won gold in the men’s 55 kg category, while Ackerman earned a silver in the men’s 60 kg division. Regina’s Gilbert Musonza and Kirk Ackerman, both who compete with the University of Regina Cougars wrestling team, won medals at the Commonwealth wrestling championships over the weekend in Melbourne, Australia. Malloy wins silver at Junior Pan-American Championships

University of Regina wrestler Gaelan Malloy won two matches and took home the silver medal in the 66-kilogram freestyle division at the Junior Pan-American Championships on Sunday in São Paolo, Brazil. Medals for Cattown Wrestling Club

Two wrestlers from the Cattown Wrestling Club won medals on the weekend at the 2011 cadet and juvenile championships. Katelynn Wilkins won a silver medal in the juvenile girls 43 kilogram division; Jesse Reid won a bronze in the juvenile men 54 kg division. Cattown Wrestlers win gold medals

Two Regina Cattown Wrestling Club members won gold medals this weekend at the national junior and senior men’s GrecoRoman wrestling championships in Edmonton. Miller High School came out on top in both the 4A girls and 3A boys wrestling provincials this weekend. The 4A girls team won with 58 points. the boys had 30 points in the boys. This week in University of Regina Cougar Wrestling

Men’s Wrestling – Led by Connor Malloy’s gold medal at 76 kilograms, the Cougars finished in third place at the CIS Championships in Thunder Bay. The U of R also had second-place finishes from three wrestlers, including Gilbert Musonza (54 kg), Kirk Ackerman (61 kg), and Cory Horsburgh (65 kg). Cougar men place third at CIS Championships

The University of Regina’s men’s wrestling team finished in third place at the CIS Championships as the two-day event wrapped up on Saturday at the Lakehead University Fieldhouse. Connor Malloy won the lone gold of the meet for the Cougars, finishing in first place at 76 kilograms to win his third CIS medal in as many years.
